The Stairs Are Out! | Money Pit Dreams
We’re in the middle of a home remodel. Classic tale - over time and over budget. And just when we thought we were wrapping it up, we found out that we’ll need to rip out a set of our stairs and replace them. Money pit problems, dear friends. The pain is so real.
But getting to pick a new staircase has also been exciting. We have stairs that are open to the rest of the house and very visible. They impact everything, so I’ve taken my sweet time in figuring out the exact details.
Our home is a three-story, Williamsburg style townhouse. Every time anyone asks me about our home style I sound a little more crazy… it's everything, but not. You know?
Ask me to define my style in three words or less and my eyes glaze over. But here are some words I like: urban, clean, cozy minimalist, classic but also modern, on trend but not trendy, collected, rustic but chic, warm and inviting, high end but sensible, hospitable and lovely, super budget friendly but looks like a million bucks. Did I just hear you roll your eyes at me? I know. I’m not helpful at all. I’m sorry, but also, I warned you. I can’t help it. (Meanwhile, this lady totally gets me. Soul sister.)
Here is what our staircase looks like now.
And here are some staircases that are inspiring me.
Have you ever remodeled or replaced a staircase? What are your favorite details on stairs? Which kind of staircase would you choose for your home? Got advice for me? I'm all ears!
Also, stay tuned. I’m planning more posts about the home renovation that has (temporarily?) taken over our lives.
