Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm sharing my life and adventures. Hope you'll stay a while! xo

Gift Guide: Bookish Gifts for People Who Like Books

Gift Guide: Bookish Gifts for People Who Like Books

Where are the book lovers at?  When you're done with this list, come talk to me and tell me all the books that you love and I'll add them to my eternally long Goodreads list, okay?  Because, by now we all know that surely I'm a girl who likes a list (and, to state the obvious, books).

A bookplate stamp is such a lovely, personal gift. $28  This one is simple, or if you're graphic design savvy, design one and have it made.  For inspiration, here are a few famous personal library bookplates from history.

A tin of page nibs feels so fancy. $15

This photo box looks to me like it belongs in a personal library.  Or anywhere, really. $50  And if you’re handy* with tools and a little woodworking, this looks like something that could be made on a super tight budget, and it’d be that much more personal!  Just be sure to include at least one good photo for the frame.
*Handy people, feel free to chime in here if I’m wrong.  I always like to imagine all the handy people just whipping things out of their woodshops like it’s nothing.  Ten minutes, some wood scraps, a little gorilla glue, and we’ll build a to-scale model of the Kremlin.  No sweat.

The illustrated Harry Potter Books. Book 1 | Book 2 | Book 3 $16-25
Merlin's beard!!!  For the HP lovers who want to leave heirloom Harry Potter books for generations, I just came across these deluxe illustrated editions. $140

A Litograph tee of a favorite tome.  A ton of options.  Check out Poe’s Tell Tale Heart, Plato’s Republic, Thoreau’s Walden, and even the Boxcar Children.  $34

When in doubt, go classic.  For top tier, go to Abe Books and track down that first edition.  Or, still nice, but much less pricey, they’re making beautiful editions here. $60+  Or, there's always the iconic and budget friendly, Penguin Paperback. $7+

We’ve had an electric tea kettle for years and we love it for all of its convenience.  This one has good reviews.  And we know that every good reader loves tea time. (Or maybe some hot cocoa, or a nice french press even. An electric kettle is good for all of that.)

The best, personalized bookmark photostrips. 9 for $10  Personally, these are my favorite bookmarks to give or get. Makes me smile every time I find my place in a book.
